Location
Most of our Gold Coast-based adventures (snorkelling at Cook Island, Gold Coast Turtle tour and Gold Coast whale swims) board at the Fingal Head Boat Ramp.
The Fingal Head Boat Ramp is just 10 minutes from Coolangatta and the Gold Coast airport. Drive in and look for the Blue Seafaris flag.
Please arrive at the boarding location at least 15 minutes prior to the set departure time, as we depart promptly.
Despite boarding in Fingal Head each time, our trips themselves vary each time depending on wildlife, conditions and weather.
The boarding location itself is fairly accessible, with regular public buses available and ample Ubers and Taxis around.
If you are having any issues, please let us know as early as possible because, depending on notice, we may be able to help. Please call on +61 491 356 909, submit the contact form found here, or email us at info@blueseafaris.com.
Arrival
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the departure time, as we have a mandatory safety briefing to conduct before leaving. Failure to attend this could result in forfeiture of your ticket.
There is ample parking around the Fingal Head Boat Ramp, but be sure to select a parking area that suits the length of your trip.
Street parking can be found in the nearby streets, and within the Fingal Head Boat Ramp area itself you can park.
Within the Boat Ramp area, there are also facilities such as bathrooms, bins, tables and BBQs.
What to Bring
Being over-prepared for any day on the water is always highly suggested. The weather can change rapidly, as can the ocean conditions. The following is a list of items we suggest to bring out. Remember that the boat can get wet, so a water-resistant bag will come in handy!
Recommended Clothing
Hat
Sunglasses
Long-sleeve shirt
Recommended accesories
Reef-safe Sunscreen
Seasickness Tablets
Reusable Water bottle
Camera
Towel
Optional
Your own wetsuit
Your own mask
Your own snorkel
Your own fins
Waterproof Camera Housing
Dry Bag
A snack
Seasickness
Better safe than sorry!
If you think you may get sea sick, it"s best to talk to a pharmacist.
Over the counter medication can prevent motion sickness and ensure you have an enjoyable experience. Kwells, Travelcalm and Sealegs are all well-known brands that are effective.
Make sure you drink plenty of water! It is also best to avoid coffee, acidic juices and greasy food like bacon and eggs. Something plain like toast is a better option.
Conditions
All cruises are subject to weather and ocean conditions, and forecasts are not always reliable. Your safety is our primary concern. Conditions can change rapidly and become unsuitable for operating, and sometimes we need to cancel or postpone the tour. We will do our best to notify you at least 90 minutes before departure but we can cancel at any time or even during the tour if conditions are deemed unsafe.
Important
We will notify you of any changes via SMS and email. Please ensure you have your phone handy and check for any messages prior to the tour. Make sure your contact details are entered correctly on the booking form.
Safety
You will have received a liability waiver form in the booking confirmation email. Every participant is required to complete the waiver. Parents can sign for their children.
